27 COFFEE ROASTERS KAMAKURA
Traditional Honduran coffee sourced through direct trade
Twenty Seven Coffee Roasters opened in Tsujido, Kanagawa in 1997. It is a coffee brand representing the Shonan area that has been around since the dawn of coffee culture in Japan. The Kamakura store opened as their second store.
The owner, Koto Kasai, travels to Honduras to purchase the beans he encounters there. Out of respect for the producers, he trades directly with the farms and purchases an entire container (12 tons) of beans from them, which is rare for a small roaster.
"The roasting we do at our Tsujido main store is done lightly so as not to destroy the delicate flavor. Come experience the tropical fruit-like sweetness of traditional Honduran beans," says Kasai.
