Toyama (Arakawa River)
I visit Toyama several times a year for work. While walking near the station, I was attracted by an illuminated sign that read "Taishu Kappo" (Traditional Japanese Cuisine) and decided to go in. The dishes, which use local seafood, such as sashimi platters of white shrimp and yellowtail, and deep-fried minced smelt, are delicious. The restaurant is always bustling with locals, and I love the friendly atmosphere.
Hiroshima (Jikon)
I was taken to a hidden restaurant by a local Japanese confectionery shop. The restaurant offers a calm atmosphere where you can enjoy delicious food in a relaxed atmosphere. We enjoyed local fish sashimi, soup dishes, and grilled dishes, all accompanied by bottled beer and the Japanese sake "Jiko". As a Kansai native, I really like the refreshing flavors.
Kochi "Orankuya"
Ever since I was taken there by the proprietress of a long-established Japanese confectionery shop, I've been stopping by here whenever I go to Kochi for work or travel. Their specialty bonito sashimi and salt-seared bonito are not only delicious, but also beautiful to look at. It's also a pleasure to watch the enthusiastic sushi chefs working efficiently.

Orankuya's specialty is "Bamboo Sake," which is enjoyed in frozen natural bamboo. Ice-cold sake pairs perfectly with local fish.
