Their goal is to achieve 90% recognition among Shizuoka residents. Their rival is the steakhouse Sawayaka. This is the story of fishbowl, a local idol group formed in 2021.

The song was produced by Yamamoto Sho, who is also known for producing music for FRUITS ZIPPER. He has been researching TikTok and viral songs since 2015, and is a key figure in the creation of "cute songs."

"Unlike songs for other idols, with fishbowl we started off with a fairly difficult song. Idols tend to be looked down upon, especially locally. That's why we decided to keep striving to create a quality in both our songs and performances that would make people in Shizuoka say, 'Aren't our girls amazing?' and want to brag about them to the whole country."

The members were mostly amateurs, but they practiced and gained experience, and pushed themselves to the point where they could sing and dance nonstop for 60 minutes. The songs and music videos are captivating, with a strong storyline that is almost like a movie.

“For example, I’m imagining an ensemble drama set in Shizuoka starring fishbowl. In this day and age, it’s important to be able to speculate, so I sometimes think of hints that will broaden the enjoyment, making people think, ‘the world of this song is connected to that song, isn’t it?’ The reason for a writer’s existence is that they live in the same era as fans and idols. I think the meaning of my songwriting comes from growing up together with them, sharing time together, and expressing that.”

What's interesting is that the prefecture has established a "Supporting Company System" in which companies and local governments support the group and its members.

"I want to turn the idol project into a proper organization. What's important is to sustain the group in a healthy way. That's why there will be member changes, and members can quit or take a break."

We're also thinking about internship programs with supporting companies and systems to recruit members who have graduated from the group. For me, being an idol is my life's work, a job I take very seriously. The one thing I will never compromise on is my desire to make everyone involved happy."

"I was able to achieve a little bit of what I was aiming for, that even an idol song could be of such high quality. I feel like I was able to expand the boundaries of idol songs." Also released earlier is "Ichiame feat. Yukichi Kasaku/men." Lyrics and music by Yamamoto Sho.
