3 Chiang Mai markets to explore and find bargains

The markets held here and there are fascinating because they give you a glimpse into the lives of the people who live there. Some markets are only open on certain days of the week, so if you've decided to travel to Chiang Mai, we recommend checking the days they will be open during your stay.

YUNNAN FLEA MARKET

A market full of unique ingredients and dishes

This market is held by Muslim Chinese who have immigrated to Chiang Mai from Yunnan Province, China. It is lined with ingredients and foods that can only be purchased here. We hope you will also enjoy the unique local atmosphere.

JING JAI MARKET

Easy access from the city is an attraction

The store is open on weekdays, but it is recommended to visit during the irregular farmers' markets and second-hand clothing markets that are held on the premises. They sell a variety of items, including organic vegetables, handmade goods, and second-hand clothing, and it's fun just to browse.

NONG HO FLEA MARKET

Chiang Mai's junk flea market

This flea market, held every Saturday and Sunday, is aptly called a junk market. It sells Thai talismans (Phra Kruang), Buddha statues, old records and cassettes. Since it's morning, you can enjoy coffee and fruit, creating a cozy atmosphere.

Phra Kruang
I noticed someone looking at something intently, so I took a closer look and saw a display case lined with Phra Kruangs.
