Witness the fusion of architecture and contemporary art
SONGEUN
On Dosan-daero in Gangnam stands a triangular building with an imposing presence. This is SONGEUN, a multi-purpose cultural space run by the Sungwoon Arts and Culture Foundation, which opened in 2021.
The building was designed by Swiss firm Herzog & de Meuron, known for such artistic architecture as London's Tate Modern and Tokyo's Prada Aoyama. Named after Seong-un (pine hide), the building's massive exterior walls feature a pine grain pattern, creating a texture that can be enjoyed with the eyes and hands.

A large-scale exhibition that can only be seen in this space
AMOREPACIFIC MUSEUM OF ART
This art space was installed when Amore Pacific, a cosmetics company headquartered in Yongsan, built its new headquarters in 2018. The museum primarily exhibited artworks collected by the company's founder, Seo Sung-hwan, but after renovations it was transformed into a facility for collecting, researching, and exhibiting traditional and contemporary art from Korea and abroad.
Twice a year, the museum holds special exhibitions of traditional art and contemporary art by international artists. At the same time, it also focuses on nurturing young artists. The large-scale installations that make the most of the spaciousness of the space and the high-quality special exhibitions are always a sight to behold.
Works created through dialogue with artists
Audio Visual Pavilion
From 2013 to 2019, they operated the exhibition space Jonggakku in a traditional Korean house in Jongno-gu, Seoul. Then, in April 2020, they relocated and opened Jonggakku Lab, which not only holds exhibitions but also conducts research and studies.
Here, the exhibition process itself is part of the work. Through close dialogue with the curators and artists, the gallery carefully records the process and disseminates it in the form of a magazine, leading to new forms of expression. This is a distinctive feature of the gallery. We hope you will enjoy the experiments and expressions that are brimming with experimental spirit.

Communicating contemporary art to the world from a unique perspective
CYLINDER TWO
When asked about interesting galleries in Seoul, people in the contemporary art world will always mention CYLINDER. Noh Doo-young, an art university graduate, opened ONE, an alternative space in Gwanak-gu that hosts group exhibitions of art students, in 2020, and TWO, a gallery displaying contemporary art works, in 2023, and runs both.
He introduces artists that interest him, from young Korean artists to artists from around the world, regardless of age or nationality.

Discovering young talent that will pave the way for the future of photography
FLOOR_
This photography gallery is located in a residential area of Yeonhui-dong. The basement, first floor, and second floor each have their own distinct functions, which is why the gallery name ends with an "_".
The museum holds around 7-8 photography and video exhibitions per year, with all participating artists selected through public submissions. The judges are an anonymous artist team. The museum also supports young talent through its annual public submission exhibition, and provides consultation on publishing photo books. You may even discover a talent who will lead the photography world in the future.
