The studio name means "a duo born in '95". Meng Yumin gained experience at Cecilie Manz, and Lee Hwa-chan at Sweden's FORM US WITH LOVE and Japan's Shigeki Fujishiro's office before establishing the studio in 2021.

What did the situation surrounding design in Korea look like to these two people who had trained in offices overseas?

"The product design industry in Korea has expanded mainly around electrical appliances and services. However, since the COVID-19 pandemic, interest in 'lifestyle' design has increased, and our studio has been able to work on projects for living products with various brands."

Their motto is to look at familiar materials and functions from a new perspective and propose products that are not only beautiful and functional, but also filled with love for people's lives.

"Korea is a place where trends change quickly, so it's a great place for newcomers to try their hand. However, we want to create things and spaces that will be loved for a long time, without being influenced by trends."

Currently, we have new projects underway with several countries. The international sensibility that KUO DUO brings will bring new inspiration to the people of Korea.
