Director Hong Sang-soo is known as the "magician of romance movies." The men and women who appear in his films drink alcohol with great relish, and the bars they visit are all very stylish. In fact, many of these bars are real suljit (taverns), and Yasikpocha in Yeonhui-dong is a spot that appears in the 2016 film "You and Yours."
The shop has a charming appearance, is run by an elderly couple, and cats roam freely inside. The sight of a regular customer sipping makgeolli while snacking on hongeo-hoe (a dish of ray sashimi fermented at room temperature), which has a strong ammonia smell, is truly a bar-like experience, and it's electrifying!
The charming storefront is irresistible. Korean bar Yasikpocha, the setting for Hong Sang-soo's film
