Mexican folk art that resonates with the soul through its fascinating aesthetic.

I acquired these two sculptures through an acquaintance who was sorting through the belongings of painter Toneyama Mitsuto when he passed away. I had loved Carmen Caballero Sevilla's paper mache ever since I saw it at the Diego Rivera Museum in Mexico City, and even before I knew whether they were her work or not, I felt that their fascinating sculptures resonated with my own soul, so I decided to buy them.

My current shop is the result of that, so it's difficult to narrow it down to just one best buy, but these two figures, including the circumstances that led to their purchase, left a particularly strong impression on me.
