Expressing the audiovisual worldview in a single "picture"
Ryoichi Kurokawa's "elementum #2"
As an audiovisual artist, Ryoichi Kurokawa has collaborated with Haruomi Hosono and Yoshihiro Hanno, but what is most impressive about him is that visual images come to mind at the same time as he writes musical scores and programs. His work is not overly logical but rather intuitive, and his organic expression, which uses motifs from the natural environment around him, is also appealing.
"elementum" is a work that uses algorithms to print a semi-transparent photograph of a flower being decomposed, layered with actual pressed flowers. It is truly a luxury to be able to enjoy his worldview from the comfort of your own home.
