Abstract paintings that change expression with changes in brightness
Yasuko Hirano's "Twilight 2201"
This is a series that Yasuko Hirano has been creating since her student days. It is characterized by the fact that the canvas is flattened with plaster, and then painted over with the three primary colors of red, blue, and yellow. Looking at the side, you can clearly see that these colors are being used.
Hirano, who was born in Toyama and graduated from a university in Kyoto, has lived surrounded by mountains for most of his life. Wanting to express the presence and atmosphere of the mountains he has seen in his daily life, he arrived at this technique after much experimentation. Because it is not too assertive, it can fit into any space as part of the interior, and as the appearance of his work changes depending on the amount of light, it can be enjoyed both day and night.
