Apartment Taipei (Otsuka)
The mini bowls are delicious and you can eat them in large quantities, just like you would at a night market stall.
The corner of Otsuka where the restaurant is located is decorated with Vietnamese flags and Chinese characters everywhere, making it feel like an Asian street corner. Opening the heavy door on the second floor of an old apartment building with a Vietnamese grocery store on the first floor, I found myself in a Taipei "shady" restaurant.
Sitting at a table covered with green circular tiles, you might look at the Chinese menu on the counter and find it hard to understand, but don't worry, as a photo menu will appear if you scan the QR code on hand.
Boar meat rice
It looks impressive. Rice topped with a roll of stewed pork belly "konro." The pork belly with skin is carefully prepared and stewed until it's soft enough to fall apart. One serving is 140-150g. The rice is 200g. The sweet and spicy sauce goes well with the rice. It looks big, but it's not a rice bowl, it's a rice bowl. A la carte is 790 yen. The lunch set is 1,100 yen.
Garlic white meat
Boiled pork with garlic sauce (620 yen). Pork belly is boiled, skin removed, and thinly sliced. The sauce is made with spices such as goji berries, dried tangerine peel, cinnamon, and star anise, as well as the uniquely fragrant herbaceous fruit, giving it a more local flavor. It makes you want to drink beer.
Boar oil and green onion noodles
Soupless noodles with green onions for 530 yen. Inoyu is lard. The aroma of the green onions fried in lard makes these noodles appetizing. As it is a simple dish, the doneness of the noodles is also important. Applause for the perfect doneness. Mix well with the hot green onions.
This is the latest addition to the group that started the Taiwanese street food movement with Edogawabashi's Fuji Communication and Hakusan's Orso. The restaurant focuses on stews that can be quickly prepared even with just one person in charge. "Lu rou fan is becoming a staple, so we recommend trying our next delicious dish, meat rice," says store manager Nishimura Kinshin. The braised pork belly on rice makes a big impact. The braised pig's trotters and mixed noodles also have a local flavor.
Enjoy it in the evening with Taiwanese beer or natural wine.
Manager Nishimura, who cooks single-handedly at a good pace, is a key figure in the Fuji Communication Group. 
The interior is reminiscent of Taiwan and is very invigorating.
