A unique and distinctive presence that suits your tastes
I've loved vintage clothing since I was a student. However, rather than the typical vintage clothing like vintage jeans or sweatshirts, I'm more interested in interesting, slightly different pieces. One of those is this varsity jacket. It was a gift from an artist friend living in Brooklyn, USA, about 20 years ago, and I've treasured it ever since.
It's a bootleg item that appears to have been created by someone using the film director John Waters' "Cry-Baby" as a motif. I personally love John Waters' work and he's something of a fashion icon, but it's amazing to see such love and enthusiasm poured into this item.
I embroidered hand-drawn illustrations. It costs money to make embroidery boards. Boots are the ultimate symbol of love. The only drawback is that Johnny Depp looks nothing like them (laughs).
These days, vintage processing techniques have evolved so much that it's possible to create textures that are no different from secondhand clothing. That's why, rather than the texture of vintage clothing, I find the unique designs and incorrect specifications that can only be found in secondhand clothing more appealing.
