Editorial Department Bangkok Diary Vol.2 A long-established noodle shop that we visit quite often

In our July 15th issue of "Reasons Why You Should Visit Bangkok Now," we introduced many of the reasons why we're captivated by Thailand, but there's much more to the country than we could ever cover in our magazine. From talented local creators, to cafes and restaurants where you can savor delicious food and lose track of time in their wonderful atmosphere, to music with Thailand's unique rhythms and melodies, to a thriving art scene, to events taking place around the city, and more. Here, we'll share the backstories behind the content featured in the magazine and the "reasons you should visit" that didn't make it into the magazine.

Like the sandwich shop we introduced earlier, there's another place we visit quite often when we go to Bangkok: Seaw Fish Ball Noodle Thonglor. It's a noodle shop with a truly long-established feel, located just a stone's throw from co-incidence.process.coffee, and it's become a standard routine for us to stop by here after leaving the hotel for our morning bowl of noodles and coffee.

There is no wall separating the inside and outside of the restaurant, and the kitchen is located in front of the store, creating a typical Thai atmosphere. There is always a crowd of people there. Most of the customers are locals, but there are also tourists from overseas like us, and motorbike drivers waiting for their food to be prepared for delivery.

You order by combining three categories. First, you choose the flavor and whether or not you want soup. There are four options: the classic mild version and the spicy version based on tom yum, both with or without soup, so you can choose based on your mood that day. Next, you choose the type of noodles. There are also four options, including egg noodles and sen lek made from rice. Finally, there's the size. Thai noodles aren't usually served in large portions. It's nice to order small or medium sizes to try a few different types, or it's great to go for large or extra large to fully enjoy the bowl.

The plate that was brought to me was packed with ingredients like fish balls and liver. The flavor was rich and gentle, making me want to come back every day. In the hot restaurant with the electric fan running, I ate the noodles in one go. The taste, of course, was only as good as the place I was eating it.

I wonder if I should order another dish, but in the end I decide it's ok to come back tomorrow.
