The goddess of Dazaifu who helps you find a good match
Kamado Shrine in Dazaifu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, has its origins in the fact that Mount Homan is located northeast (the direction of evil spirits) of Dazaifu Government Office Ruins, which oversaw the entire Kyushu region, and the shrine was built to enshrine a god to keep evil spirits away.
It is said that the shrine was later built in 673 AD after a monk training at Mount Homan received a divine revelation, and the main deity enshrined there is Tamayorihime-no-Mikoto.

Mount Homan, where the shrine is located, has been worshipped as a sacred mountain since ancient times and has also been a center of Shugendo and mountain worship. Tamayorihime is a goddess known as the mother of the first emperor, Emperor Jimmu, and has long been worshipped as the goddess of matchmaking, fertility, safe childbirth, and family harmony.
Tamayorihime is depicted as "Homansama," a lucky charm made from Hakata dolls, a traditional craft representative of Fukuoka. She is beloved as a guardian deity who brings good fortune to people and accompanies people at turning points in life.
