I've always been interested in art, and I often visit galleries between work and on my days off. One of my favorite spots is SERGE MOUILLE LOUNGE on the basement floor of prain villa. The gallery showcases works by Park So-bo, a master of contemporary Korean art, and Anna Park, a rising Korean artist currently based in New York. You can experience the diverse Korean art scene here. After viewing the exhibits, you can relax at sannolu café on the first floor. Incidentally, I've become so addicted to gallery-hopping that I've even started painting myself. Even though I hated art classes back in school (laughs), I can freely express myself on canvas without having to worry about someone else grading my work. That's why I enjoy drawing so much now.
The actors and staff came to Korea to film the drama "What Comes After Love," in which I co-starred with Sakaguchi Kentaro. I was surprised to find they knew Seoul better than I did. The Japanese people even decided on where we had dinner and where we'd have our after-party (laughs). Even these Seoul experts might not know about this place, so I recommend the area around Sadang Station, my hometown. As it's a transfer station, there's a rich underground shopping mall where you can find everything from fashion to restaurants to cafes. There are also delicious gopchang and tteokbokki restaurants. I also recommend traveling by city bus. The blue and green buses often travel long distances, so you can enjoy the various sights of Seoul from the window.
