I've heard that Seoul is a fast-paced city where trendy spots change every year. And everyone knows the trends. So this time, I decided to explore the city for seven days, guided by a local expert, in search of the "next big area" that is still unknown to many people.

Among all the places, the one that most captivated me was the area around Mount Acha. A 295m-high mountain that straddles Seoul and Guri, locals often come here for day hikes, but the area around the base of the mountain is incredibly peaceful and nostalgic. There aren't many people around, and the townscape seems to stand still in time, dotted with charming restaurants and cafes.

Beyond the steep slope is a slightly hazy mountainside, a small record cafe where you can immerse yourself in the sounds of vintage audio equipment, and a handmade tofu shop run by a lively older man. A local says, "This area used to be a residential area, but now young people who are tired of the supremacy of trends are flocking here in search of a relaxed atmosphere and shops."

I felt a strange sense of empathy, and as someone who grew up in the countryside, the atmosphere felt comfortable, so I took another stroll around the area by myself during my free time, separate from the interview. I also came across a shop that I definitely want to return to. It's such a joy to find a familiar town across the sea. This special feature introduces towns with unique personalities, from the city center to the countryside.
