People appear on T-shirts. Illustrator and printmaker Tadajun

It's just a T-shirt, but it's still a T-shirt. Each T-shirt tells an eloquent story of the owner's life. We asked illustrator and printmaker Tadajun to tell us about his favorite T-shirt.

Monochrome, English letters, and illustrations have become unique without me realizing it.

I pick up T-shirts that I'm drawn to intuitively at a glance, without worrying about the meaning or content. I look at the design itself so closely that I didn't even realize it until translator Motoyuki Shibata gently pointed out to me that the English T-shirt I used to wear had "f**k written on it." I was unconsciously choosing only monochrome T-shirts that combined English letters with illustrations.

This T-shirt from TACOMA FUJI RECORDS, featuring artwork by artist Tomoo Gokita, is a perfect example of this. It's the same principle when I create T-shirts featuring my own artwork for exhibitions. Perhaps because T-shirts are casual items that can be chosen without any particular preference, they unconsciously reveal our individuality, true feelings, and true nature.
