People appear on T-shirts. Film director Yurina Kaneko

It's just a T-shirt, but it's still a T-shirt. Each T-shirt tells an eloquent story of the owner's life. We asked film director Yurina Kaneko to tell us about her favorite T-shirt.

An adorable piece bursting with individuality, drawn by a person with a disability

I always wear T-shirts, whether at home or outside. I wore T-shirts all the time in my junior and senior high school basketball club, and without even realizing it, they became the clothes I felt most comfortable in. I mostly wear secondhand clothes, but I especially like this one, which was made at a welfare workshop for people with disabilities.

I work in the field of activity support, helping people with disabilities get out and about, so whenever I come across a bazaar selling handmade items from a workshop, I can't help but want to buy something. The T-shirts are reasonably priced at around 1,000 yen, and the unique illustrations on them are adorable, as I can't resist something unique.

Sometimes I declutter my large collection of T-shirts and give them to recycle shops, but it's also fun to imagine these T-shirts passing on to someone else.

"The three characters lined up from behind are cute, and I also like that they're small and fit well," says Kaneko.
