A story of leaps that seem like they could actually happen in real life
It was actually around 2020 that I first came across a work of science fiction. I read the much talked about "The Three-Body Problem" and was amazed at how interesting a novel it was! I've had a vague interest in space since I was a child. When I read the physics book "The Weave of the Universe," I was drawn in by the true nature of time and space and the many things that have yet to be proven.
The distance that light travels in one year is called "one light-year," but I think it's amazing that light is a unit of time and distance in the first place. The speed of light is constant, but there are many other mysteries in the universe. That uncertainty leaves room for a science fiction setting.
After reading "The Three-Body Problem," a friend recommended hard science fiction like "Time Blockade" to me, and I read it. What's interesting about novels is that they have no visual elements, allowing you to expand your imagination with just the words. I particularly like works that make you feel like they could actually happen someday, even when you know they're fiction. Teleportation is impossible in the real world, but science fiction has a mysterious power that makes you believe, "Maybe it's possible?"
