A unique landscape painting with vivid colors blending into the paleness
Yohei Ogawa's "untitled, 2023"
I have many mutual acquaintances with Ogawa Yohei, and in 2020 we held our first solo exhibition. We frame each piece and finish them one by one. His personality exudes from his paintings, and looking at them makes me feel warm and fuzzy. His pale colors are complemented by accents of blue and green. The landscape of palm trees, a swimming pool, and classic cars lined up in a wilderness overlooking the vast mountains evokes the exotic atmosphere of the Mexican desert.
The landscapes of Niigata, where he grew up, are also reflected in his works, but none of the works are titled and do not represent real landscapes. I hope that they will become a landscape that resonates with the people who display them in their rooms.
