Biologist Kosuke Katano chose his car based on these points: Porsche 986 Boxster

It's the same with love. Relationships tend to be more successful and last longer if you prioritize feelings like "a nice smile" or "getting along well" over specs like "height" or "annual income." The same may be true for cars. While fuel economy, maintenance costs, and trade-in value are certainly concerns, if you choose with a strong intuition, you'll be able to share the good times and the bad and enjoy a long-lasting relationship. We spoke to Katano Kosuke, who chose his car because of "what he likes about it," about how he got involved with his car and how he bragged about it.

It has a classic feel, so this Boxster

"At first, I was planning to drive one of the earliest Rover Mini 1000 Sprites, but the Boxster's small body and classic four-spoke steering wheel were what decided me. If it had had a more modern feel, I might not have gotten it," says Katano.

He chose a first-generation Boxster, a 1998 model, almost the same age as him, from the garage of his parents' home in Niigata, where they ran a used car dealership dealing in European cars. Cars have been a part of his life since he was a child.

"The meter panel visible through the steering wheel also has a traditional Porsche feel to it, and I really like it together with the steering wheel."

Katano got his driver's license two and a half years ago at a training camp with friends. This year, he also obtained a secondhand goods dealer license, and he plans to buy and sell used cars in the future.
