Love is something that accumulates
I first came across "Notting Hill" after I was confirmed to be taking part in "The Bachelorette Japan." For me, movies are important for lifting my spirits. That's why, when a friend recommended it to me, I thought, "I need to get motivated for love first...!" and so I watched it, and I was hooked.
The fact that William, a simple bookstore clerk, meets Anna, a famous actress, by chance and falls in love with her is exactly what I will experience in the future. As someone who only watches movies with happy endings to stay positive, it was convenient for me that the two end up together. If the movie my friend recommended had a sad ending, I would never have watched it (laughs).
I'm not good at expressing my feelings, so I've had a lot of trouble with relationships. But seeing William not give up on his love for Anna, who was out of his reach, made me want to act so that I don't leave anything undone in this one and only life. I didn't want to regret appearing on "Bachelor Japan."
Both shows have the theme of "true love," but I think love takes many different forms. This show ends with the couple getting married, but in reality, their lives continue after that. I think love is something that changes shape over time, but builds up little by little. I was able to think this way thanks to William's encouragement that day.
