Love is a desperate feeling
The film that got me interested in movies was Wong Kar-wai's "Buenos Aires." When I saw it for the first time, I thought, "This is love." The two main characters, played by Leslie Cheung and Tony Leung, fight, punch each other, and are apart for long periods of time, but there's still a sense that they're together. What's more, the two actors are so amazing that it almost feels like they're actually living in the film. It was a film that made me realize how amazing actors can be.

I felt something similar to "Buenos Aires" in Iwai Shunji's "PiCNiC." Tadanobu Asano and Chara. These two are also living on the edge of life. Perhaps I like the way desperate love is portrayed, whether it's life or death.
When I think about it, it's a shame to bring up a film I was in, but the same goes for "Soirée." This film and the role I played remain special to me. Nijiro (Murakami), who I co-starred with, became a really important presence for me, even though we weren't romantically involved.
"How to Find a Lover," directed by Koji Maeda and in which I starred, is also a film filled with all kinds of love. Sonoko and Towa (Kura Yuki), the characters I played, are a little clumsy and eccentric, but not only do they care for each other, but the people around them all reach out to help them in their own way. It made me think it would be great if a community like this existed in the real world.
