Dignified tableware that meets all requirements
Located on a corner of Platinum Street in Shirokanedai, Amahare introduces artists from all over Japan in search of reliable handicrafts that beautifully decorate the dining table and can also serve as important tools for hospitality. To maintain quality, the shop selects items based on 11 criteria, including "items born from the local climate and culture," "items that only that person can create," and "items with emotion," and always has a lineup of works by 30 to 40 artists.
In addition to tableware, the store also stocks a wide variety of items to add color to your dining table scenes, such as cutlery, sake cups, and flower vases, which are displayed in the store along with seasonal displays.
"Whether it's Eastern or Western, tableware can add color to the table, and even the entire space. I want to introduce pieces that can quietly transform the way you live your life," says owner Kenichi Kaneko, who recommends Yuka Ando, a potter from Tanba Sasayama, Hyogo Prefecture.
The vessels, with their gentle shadows and elegance, seem to reflect the quietly and slowly changing colors of the sky that she used to watch every day in her previous homes in Northern Europe and Himi, Toyama. They have a dignified presence and are pieces with a strong presence that look great as interior objects or when displayed with flowers.
