A seamless tool for any scene, whether in the mountains or in town
Mountain gear is designed with functionality in mind, making it a very attractive product. Once you experience the comfort of mountain gear, there's no reason not to use it on a daily basis. However, I'm not attracted to mountain-like designs, no matter how functional they are. I'm always looking for outdoor gear with designs that fit in with the city.
The ARC'TERYX Veilance series is ideal, with no logo and a subdued color range. It's a bit pricey, but it's well-made and simple, so you can wear it for years.
Matador 's Beast 28 is also suitable for both city and mountain use. It's a rare item with a detachable waist belt, making it perfectly suitable for a one-night stay in a tent with light gear. Now that I've split my time between Tokyo and the Yatsugatake Mountains, the line between the city and mountain life has become increasingly blurred. Lately, I've been able to go mountain climbing in the same clothes I wear to the office.
