From a liquor store to an importer, dedicated to French wine

Located in a peaceful residential area on the west side of Lake Biwa, this liquor store is popular with customers from Kyoto. After working as a sommelier, the owner, Yoshiki Ueda, moved to Alsace, France to experience the wine industry firsthand. After experiencing the natural processes of wine growing, he decided to become an importer, connecting producers and consumers, and opened a liquor store as a first step in that direction. He only sells wine from France.

"There are many unknown wines, and I want to dig deeper into France," says Ueda. The first wine he will handle as an importer is Michel Clotaire, which set sail in April 2022. He covers wine from various perspectives, including through podcasts.
